I cannot connect using SSH to port 22 any longer?
Due to massive scanning on SSH port 22, we changed SSHD server
to use port 2222.
Use the following command to connect:
ssh -p 2222 yourname@pub400.com
Sorry for any inconvenience...

Can i get a higher security level like *SECOFR?
no.
- How do i connect to PUB400.COM?
You need a so called 5250 client for connecting to the native IBM i text based interface. There are several
programs providing this 5250 protocol (use google to search for "tn5250" for example). The most recommended
client is iACS from IBM, to be found at:
get IBM iACS
(free registration for an IBM ID needed)
alternatives:
VScode
A great article by Anand about how to use VSCode with PUB400
TN5250 at sourceforge (Freeware), or:
Mochasoft client (commercial)
For using open source software and tools, use ssh (see above)

How can i load my data?
If you have a save file on your PC, you can transfer it to PUB400.COM into one of your libraries (see below).
Depending on how the save file has been created, use the following to restore:
If it was created using SAVLIB, enter command RESTLIB and press F4. Fill in the
name of the library which has saved on the originating system, and name and library
where to find your save file. A background process will take care and send you more messages.
If the file was created using SAVOBJ, enter command RESTOBJ and press F4.
Explanation:
Save files must be restored with a command appropriate to the save command.
if you used SAVLIB, you normally use RSTLIB, if you used SAVOBJ, you use RSTOBJ.
But on PUB400.COM there
is some special topic to consider: security! The objects saved on the source system might be owned by a
user profile different than your PUB400.COM user.
So we created two special commands
RESTLIB and RESTOBJ which will restore and change authority so you can access the objects,
no mattere where they come from. They will be placed into a temporary library TMPxxxxxx for you. Please
do not forget to delete this library after you moved the objects to your library! We will sometimes
clean up old TMPxxxxxx libraries.

How to transfer my data?
It is recommended to use save files to transfer data between IBM i systems. If you have a save file
containing objects on your PC, do the following:
Lets assume your user name is MYUSER, your libraries on PUB400.COM are named MYUSER1 and MYUSER2.
Your save file on your PC is named MYDATA.SAVF (it is highly recommended to use the .SAVF extension).
Use a FTP client like Filezilla or the DOS command window FTP.EXE program
After signon, type the following:
CD /QSYS.LIB/MYUSER2.LIB
(take note of the suffixes!)
BIN
PUT MYDATA.SAVF MYDATA.SAVF
(recommended to enter the name twice)
QUIT
Then you can check the save file with
DSPSAVF MYUSER2/MYDATA
